Barack Obama has revealed his annual year-end list of his favorite songs, movies, TV series and books, naming everyone from Mac Miller to his own book and the famed ESPN documentary, The Last Dance. The 44th POTUS' year-end music list includes Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé's "Savage (Remix)," Mac Miller's "Blue World," J. Cole's "The Climb Back," Jhené Aiko's "Summer 2020," Phoebe Bridgers' "Kyoto," Bad Bunny's "La Difícil" and Travis Scott, Young Thug and M.I.A.'s "FRANCHISE" to name a few.He revealed in a recent interview that his list was created with the help of his daughters Malia and Sasha, with whom he consults with throughout the year. "I'm constantly listening to their music. Sometimes by request, and sometimes just because that's what's blaring in the house, you know, I pick up on some trends," he said. "Sasha's more protective of her music. There's certain things on SoundCloud... she has a like a private playlist. She won't share all of it with me because she's not sure I'm hip enough to handle it. No man, you know, I'm keeping up... for an old guy."Over on the film and TV side, Obama's 2020 favorites include his and Michelle Obama's own executive produced title Crimp Camp, Chadwick Boseman's final film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, David Fincher's Mank, The Good Place, The Queen's Gambit, Better Call Saul and The Last Dance. Meanwhile, he names Erik Larson's The Splendid and The Vile, Karla Cornejo Villavicencio's The Undocumented Americans and Phil Klay's The Missionaries as some of his favorite books this year, although Obama admitted to "deliberately omitting" his own published work A Promised Land from the list, but he did call it "a pretty good book."Take a look at Obama's complete year-end lists below. Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to. pic.twitter.com/K1NRPYiSg4— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) December 19, 2020Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format. pic.twitter.com/a8BS8jDkSs— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) December 18, 2020As 2020 comes to a close, I wanted to share my annual lists of favorites. I’ll start by sharing my favorite books this year, deliberately omitting what I think is a pretty good book – A Promised Land – by a certain 44th president. I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I did. pic.twitter.com/UHk4RA9dow— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) December 17, 2020Elsewhere in entertainment, a new Star Wars spin-off series based on Boba Fett has been announced.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
