Macro Photography : Melitaea helvetica by bzh88
The Heath Fritillary (Melitaea Helvetica) is an almost extincted butterfly back home in Brittany (western France), and until know it was lacking in my “list of successes”.
I photographed this one last week in Ariege, next to the Pyrenees mountains.

La mélitée du Mélampyre (Melitaea helvetica) est un papillon pratiquement disparu chez moi, en Bretagne, et qui manquait donc jusqu’ici à mon “tableau de chasse”: j’ai photographié celui-ci en Ariège il y a quelques jours.

The Old World Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) is a butterfly of the family Papilionidae. The butterfly is also known as the common yellow swallowtail or simply the swallowtail (a common name applied to all members of the family, but this species is the ‘original’, first to go by the name). It is the type species of the genus Papilio and occurs throughout the Palearctic region in Europe and Asia; it also occurs across North America, and thus, is not restricted to the Old World, despite the common name.
